A fast growing Investment Management
firm that specializes in Natural
resource investments with offices in London, Boston and Hong Kong is seeking a
Chief Technology Officer who will be based in the Boston office and who:

Can
conceptualize, launch and deliver multiple, sound technology solutions as
needed throughout the organization
·
Works
comfortably and communicates effectively with senior management in addition to
managing and supervising both software engineers and network staff.
·
Has
an understanding and proven track record over several years in IT strategy
delivery, and excellent awareness of the strategic goals and ability to define
and influence those goals.
·
Has
experience and knowledge of best practices related to IT service delivery management.
·
Has
experience with technology architecture strategy.
·
Has
knowledge of telecommunications (including video), data center management,
information management, systems design and architecture, capacity planning and
current state of hardware development and utilization.
·
Can
establish technical standards and ensure adherence to them for project
development and company operations.
·
Can
develop and maintain an appropriate IT organizational structure that supports
the needs of the business.
·
Can
lead IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by
fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the
evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT products and
systems across the organization.
·
Can
identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of
financial resources in IT systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing,
purchasing, and in-house development.
·
Can
ensure IT system operation adheres to applicable laws and regulations,
including SEC and other guidelines.
·
Can
keep current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including current
technologies and prices. Advise, counsel, and educate Executive Team members on
their competitive or financial impact.
·
Can
establish lines of control for current and proposed information systems.
·
Can
direct development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business
continuity plan.
·
Can
approve, prioritize, and control projects and the project portfolio as they
relate to the selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major
information systems and the development of software projects
·
Can
ensure continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service level agreements
with end users and monitoring of IT systems performance.
·
Can
supervise recruitment, development, retention, and organization of all IT staff
in accordance with the Company’s budgetary objectives.
EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
·
Bachelor
of Science degree in the field of computer science or business administration.
Master’s degree in one these fields preferred.
·
Working
knowledge of Microsoft business platform: SQL server database, .Net (WinForms
and Asp.Net) SQL Reporting Services
·
Working
knowledge of modern network principal’s experience managing and/or directing an
IT operation.
·
Experience
in the investment service industry preferred
·
Experience
in strategic planning and execution.
·
Good
understanding of computer systems characteristics, features, and integration capabilities.
·
Experience
with both hardware and software systems design and development from business
requirements analysis through to day-to-day management.
·
Proven
experience in IT planning, organization, and development.
·
Excellent
understanding of project management principles.
·
Strong
leadership skills
·
Demonstrated
ability to apply IT in solving business problems.
·
In-depth knowledge of applicable laws
and regulations as they relate to IT.
