C#.Net/Silverlight Contract Developer Job: 10-MNSD
Major financial firm in Boston seeks a consultant
to assist with the development of a centralized platform for their investment process, specifically Cash Management/Monitoring. The contract
will be to assist in the design, prototype and development of a high
performing, intuitive front-end and user-interface, leveraging Web Services and
Direct Database access. They are looking to build next generation
interfaces that provide unique stream-lined, context based experiences.
This contract should last approximately 6-12 months.
Company is a Microsoft Shop. Their development environment is Microsoft .NET
4.0. They are using Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and Silverlight
(if needed) for front-end development, Windows Communication Foundation (WCF)
for their distribution mechanism, and ADO.NET Entity Framework (LINQ and Entity
SQL) for our data access. The internal database environment is SQL Server
2005 & SQL 2008 R2, but they access other financial systems based in Oracle
via Web Services. Standard Presentation quality reports are generated
using Crystal Reports.
They have a team approach to software development where the team assists in the
design and approach for the end product. This is an excellent opportunity
to work with an excellent team, in a collaborative environment with Microsoft’s
the latest development platform.
Skill
Set order of preference:
o
Overall development
using the Microsoft .NET Platform .NET 3.5 SP1 and above.
o
Highly efficient,
optimized, and superior GUI design and development using Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF). As much separation of GUI design and C# as
possible. They are using ADO.NET Entity Framework for our standard data
access, so proven data-binding approaches are a must, against both standard
Microsoft WPF controls as well as Infragistics 3rd party
controls. They are looking for cutting edge user interface design and
visualization – not just people “productive” with WPF
o
Data Access experience using
WCF based web services
o
Data Access (CRUD)
experience using ADO.NET Entity Framework
o
Financial Services
Experience. Understanding of financial markets, financial oriented data,
and the ability to communicate with financial professionals is greatly desired.
o
Demonstrated ability to
verify performance of the front-end against their standard client hardware.
Anything destined for production must be thoroughly vetted against their standard
user-desktops.
o Ability to develop all business
logic in C# middle-tier, accessible via WCF-based Services. ADO.NET
Entity Framework will be used for data access.
